Saudi Arabia Pump

Request:

A customer in Saudi Arabia wanted a control that would automatically disengage a clutch if their engine went below a certain RPM. This engine was attached to a water pump that had a shaft over 1000 feet long into the ground. What would happen is occasionally the operator would shut the engine down prematurely which would cause the shaft to vibrate apart.

Solution:

A custom designed actuator and electronics was created. The electronics would sense the engine speed and if the RPM dropped below a certain level the clutch to the water pump would be disengaged. To measure the engine RPM, a custom disk and magnetic pickup was fabricated.
