Golf Course Aeration

Request:

The customer needed to put a certain number of aeration holes in the ground per square foot. Since the aeration rate was constant, if their aerator started going up a hill it would slow down so you get more holes punched. Conversely, if the machine went down hill too fast, not enough aeration holes were punched.

Solution:

We created a “cruise control” for the aeration machine. We created a custom system solution consisting of a ground speed device, a rotary actuator, an electronics package. The electronics monitored the ground speed and stroked a hydrostatic pump to maintain speed through the rotary actuator.

• Aerating consistency independent of tractor speed
• Made the aeration process more efficient
• Easy installation with custom mount
